Seed to Shelf: Our Supply Chain

Every batch of Turmesac® begins with carefully selected turmeric rhizomes and moves through a controlled manufacturing process managed by Star Hi Herbs Pvt. Ltd. From botanical authentication and raw-material preparation to extraction, spray drying, phytochemical testing, packing and documentation, each stage is designed to preserve product identity, phytochemical consistency and batch-level traceability.

01 / Journey

The Turmesac® seed-to-shelf journey

01

Turmeric source selection

Turmesac® is derived from the rhizome of Curcuma longa. Published Turmesac® studies document the use of authenticated Indian turmeric, including Sangli turmeric collected from Maharashtra and Salem variety turmeric collected from Tamil Nadu. Botanical identification was carried out by the Star Hi Herbs R&D team before the material entered the extraction process.

Source selection focuses on confirming botanical identity, geographical origin and suitability for producing the complete Turmesac® phytochemical composition.

02

Raw-material preparation

After collection, turmeric rhizomes are carefully cleaned and dried. The dried rhizomes are then powdered and stored in controlled, airtight conditions until extraction.

These handling steps help protect the raw material from excess moisture and environmental exposure while maintaining the integrity of the turmeric oil, aqueous compounds, curcuminoids and other naturally occurring phytochemicals.

03

Controlled harvest and lot documentation

Turmeric quality can vary according to variety, growing location, crop conditions and post-harvest handling. For this reason, raw-material lots are identified and evaluated before processing.

Turmesac® research batches have used turmeric from documented Indian origins rather than unidentified commodity material. Botanical authentication and lot-level handling provide the foundation for traceability through subsequent manufacturing stages.

04

In-house extraction and concentration

Turmesac® is manufactured and registered by Star Hi Herbs Pvt. Ltd. at its facility in Jigani, Karnataka, India. The manufacturing process is designed to retain a wider spectrum of turmeric-derived phytochemicals instead of producing only an isolated curcumin compound.

Turmeric rhizome powder first undergoes steam distillation to separate and collect the naturally occurring turmeric oil. The remaining rhizome material is extracted by refluxing with water in a commercial extraction facility. The aqueous extract is concentrated through vacuum distillation and spray dried to produce a free-flowing powder.

The documented Turmesac® composition is prepared by blending 95% spray-dried aqueous turmeric rhizome extract, 3% ethanolic curcuminoid extract and 2% turmeric oil. This controlled recombination creates the synergistic, full-spectrum phytochemical matrix that differentiates Turmesac® from conventional single-compound turmeric extracts.

05

Analytical testing and batch release

Quality control continues through extraction, concentration, spray drying, blending and finished-product release. Rigorous HPLC testing supports batch-to-batch phytochemical consistency.

The manufacturing programme is supported by an ISO-certified quality system, a GMP-compliant facility and comprehensive technical documentation. Current certificates are available on request for supplier qualification.

Finished batches are released with appropriate technical and quality documentation, which may include the product specification, Certificate of Analysis, safety information, stability data and regulatory support documents.

06

Packing, documentation and delivery

Approved Turmesac® powder is packed under controlled conditions and linked to its manufacturing and quality records. Star Hi Herbs supports commercial customers with complete technical specifications, stability information, formulation guidance, R&D samples, regulatory documentation and flexible supply-chain solutions.

This documented approach helps formulators and procurement teams evaluate the identity, consistency and suitability of each supplied batch.

02 / Ownership

Backward integration

Turmesac® is not sourced as a finished extract from an unidentified third-party trader. Star Hi Herbs controls the core manufacturing process, including turmeric preparation, steam distillation, aqueous extraction, vacuum concentration, spray drying, blending and analytical oversight.

Owning and operating the extraction infrastructure gives Star Hi Herbs greater control over production planning, process consistency, technical documentation and batch traceability. Our in-house manufacturing facility and quality-control laboratory reinforce this integrated approach.

03 / Resource use

Responsible sourcing and resource use

The Turmesac® process is designed to retain and use multiple valuable fractions of the turmeric rhizome. Turmeric oil is recovered through steam distillation, while water-dispersible phytochemicals are concentrated and spray dried. These fractions are combined with curcuminoids to create the finished phytochemical matrix.

This fuller use of turmeric-derived components supports Turmesac®'s positioning as a complete-spectrum composition rather than an isolated curcumin ingredient.
